About JAIOP

Overview

■ Foundation

Administrative organizations and the various conditions that surround them have increasingly placed more emphasis on human life since the beginning of the 20th century, and now that we stand on the threshold of the 21st century, we are facing completely new aspects of this.

Research into industrial psychology was started by various pioneers in alignment with the evolution of the industrial civilization, and we have since achieved breathtaking advances centered on the field of applying psychology, but we are now faced with the challenge of achieving qualitative leaps in order to cope with the progress of information-based societies and globalization.

The Japanese Association of Industrial/Organizational Psychology was established for the purpose of initiating research into the following in light of this era-based background:
1. The development of individuals and organizations as the cornerstones of human potential;
2.The formation of organizations that provide efficient and healthy purposes in life;
3.The execution of work from a comprehensive viewpoint of mentality and physicality;
4.Conditions that enable people to consume commodities as cultural consumers.

■ Fields of Research

The fields of research into which the Association is involved in have been split into four divisions based on the objectives of our establishment, each of which is actively focusing on the problems we are currently faced with in addition to fundamental issues beneath a structure of organic ties that link researchers, people involved in business, individuals and organizations.

Division of Human Resources
Division of Organizational Behavior
Division of Safety and Operation
Division of Marketplaces

This website has been designed to provide a broad overview of the Association in order to encourage people to provide us with their support and cooperation, and we sincerely hope that researchers at universities and other research and education institutions, corporations, organizations and other people involved in the field will consider becoming members.
